The Technique of Chi Running

There are many different ways for runners to run and there are many self proclaimed experts promoting many of the different techniques. Some of these are Chi running, Pose running, barefoot running amoung others. Chi Running is both a technique of running and a philosophy of running. Chi running as a technique advocates more of a leaning forward running style with a forefoot strike pattern as opposed to the traditional rearfoot strike. Its also advocates the use of a more relaxed style of running. Chi running as a philosophy applies some of the techniques of tai chi and yoga to the running experience, making it more of a religious experiences with claims like ‘being at one with the road‘. Many claims get made for the benefits of Chi Running, but there is no evidence to support this type of running over any other type. For every running that thinks Chi running is beneficial, there is another that had problems with Chi Running. Probably the best type of running is the type that comes naturally to the runner.
